I have been using Evernote fo about 3 years now. It is one of my essential workflow tools.
In short, you drag things, email things, upload things, or send things from your iPhone.

I keep hand written notes, pdf files, invoices, bills, photos... basically Everything.

You can organise your stuff into folders, and you can search for things in evernote using keywords, and get this, it finds text in photos!!

Synctoy - Free Backup Software for Windows

Synctoy is free backup software for windows.

You can setup folder pairs to copy the contents of on folder to another.
An example would be to setup your 'My Documents' folder, and copy it to a folder on an external drive.

Not only do I use it to copy important files to my DropBox folder, I use the windows scheduler to automatically run the software and copy all folder pairs at midnight.

I use this path as a guide to run All folder pairs in scheduler.
"C:\Documents and Settings\[WINDOWS USER]\Local Settings\Application Data\SyncToy\SyncToy.exe" -R

You may need to to identify where synctoy is installed, and add the "-R" switch to the end of the command line.

Drop Box

DropBox is a great way to backup important files. Once installed, you simply drag your files to your dropbox folder. You can access your files via a web interface, or by installing DropBox on other machines.

HandBrake

HandBrake is a great application for converting videos or DVD's into whatever format you require.

I use Handbrake primarily for backing up my DVD's into MP4 format, so I can play them on my Macbook, AppleTV, or iPhone. I also use it to convert .avi or .wmv files that I come accross from time to time.
